Aims: In contemporary residential architecture, semi-open spaces have lost their quality as one of the essential spaces of a home. Therefore, the aim of this research is identifing the components that increase the quality of semi-open residential spaces and assessing the level of intersections and differentiation of these components in literature review and contemporary residential architecture of the country.

Methods: The components of semi-open spaces were identified using a descriptive method, and then 30 case studies in IRAN were evaluated using a cese study method. The frequency and weight of the components were obtained based on Shannon's entropy in the literature and case studies. Subsequently, a comparative analysis was conducted between the prioritization of components between literature review and case studies.

Findings: the intersectional components of semi open space include diverse activities and spaces, desirable activities, view, interaction with environment, privacy and natural elements, adjacency to interior spaces, spatial dimensions - height, spatial proportions, openness, materials, and spatial construction elements. The semantic differentiations are as follow social interaction, safety, and comfort are protorized in the literature review, while aesthetic components such as restraint, visual continuity, and beauty are protorized in case studies. The physical differentiations are such that the literature emphasizes the physical structure, including surface areas, porosity, spaciousness, and depth of space, whereas the case studies illustrate a superiority of aesthetic considerations, involving color, volumetric balance, and form.

Conclusion: After considering the intersectional semantic and physical components as primary design imperatives, the differences indicate that what is crucial in enhancing the quality of semi-open spaces in contemporary residential works is desires, housing budgets, and socio-cultural requirements of diverse contexts.
</Abstract>

Aims: The present research aims to recognize the indices of Smart and concepts related to "Intelligence" as well as to explain its relationship with architecture. Specifically, it aims to present strategies for the convergence of the concepts of "Intelligence" and "Place" in order to achieve phenomenon of "Intelligence Place" based on its defining concepts and features.

Methods: The present research is a combination of analytical and descriptive methods based on formative foundations of concept of smartness and its influential features in architecture. After examining specialized texts, extracted concepts and fundamental relationships and various approaches are analyzed, providing a comprehensive combination to explain the "Intelligence Place".

Findings: Intelligence is an essential feature in shaping spatial quality in the present era. Three fundamental features of this concept can be expressed as formal-physical intelligence, functional-behavioral intelligence, and semantic-conceptual intelligence. If all three mentioned features occur, "Comprehensive Intelligence " is achieved, and in combination with formative features, It leads to the phenomenon of " Intelligence Place."

Conclusion: The concept of place, considering interaction of defining features and levels, which originates from a conceptual and fundamental basis in architecture on one hand, and understanding concepts of intelligent and influential factors in formation of intelligent as a variable idea in form and structures that are dynamic intelligent structures, through the stability foundation of intelligent architecture as an achievement on the other hand, is under investigation, and the most important result of the explained concepts can be considered phenomenon of " Intelligence Place."

Aims: Considering the share of about 35% of energy consumption by buildings, energy consumption management requires special attention from architects. Building form is one of the most influential parameters on energy consumption, and the Yazd city, as an example of an arid and warm climate, is the focus of this research. The purpose is to provide a solution to produce the optimal form of independent vernacular building as a basic policy in the conceptual design phase in Yazd city.

Methods: Using parametric modeling and energy simulation by suitable computer tools, multi-objective optimization of the building form was carried out considering two indicators of thermal and visual comfort by genetic algorithm for the arid and warm climate of Yazd city. Several subsurface area values were considered as input and the results were presented in four general forms: cube, L, U and O.

Findings: In this research, the optimal options were analyzed and compared, and a general model for the optimal form and orientation of the building was presented. The results of the research showed that the most optimal form, considering the thermal comfort index as a priority index for all the investigated areas, is a rectangular cube form with a shape factor of about 1.8 and a north-south orientation.

Conclusion: Using the form and optimal orientation of the building as a passive policy that is the basis for other active and passive policies can have an Appropriate effect on creating comfort and reducing energy consumption in a combined manner.
</Abstract>

It is possible as feasible by the main characteristics in the architectural design of the seismic bionic tower.
aims: In this article, Shamsiya of Yazd, a complex of the 8th century A.H, is examined through the lens of two historical texts "Tarikh-e Yazd" (by Ja’fari) and "Tarikh-e Jadid-e Yazd" (by Kateb) - both from the 9th century. The differences between these 2 descriptions and with the remains of the building, provides a framework for understanding this building and its perception in the past.

Methods: This article, using the historical-interpretive method, first deals with the identification of the Shamsiya complex in the Waqfname (endowment letter) of Jame’ Al-Khairat, and then compares the descriptions of Ja’fari and Kateb with each other and with the Waqfname and building itself. Secondly, it will list the differences among descriptions. Finally, considering social backgrounds and textual context, it will recognize the Shamsiya collection and the way it was looked upon.

Findings: The main difference between Jafari's text and Kateb's about Shamsiya is the type of reference to decorative details and water supply corridors. Also, while the texts of the 9th century mention two madrasas in this complex, only one madrasa is mentioned in Jame’ Al-Khairat. There are other minor differences between them also.

Conclusion: The key to understand the differences lies in two authors' different perspectives; While Ja'fari pays attention to the whole building and the surface water passages, Kateb weighs more to the decorative detail and underground water. Also, the difference between the social background of the 9th and the 8th century has caused the building of Dar al-Siyadeh to gradually become "Madrasa".

Aims: This study aims to investigate the impact of shading devices and airflow velocity on the thermal (energy) performance and convective flow in a south-facing double-skin façade of a building located in Semnan, a hot and arid region in Iran. The research seeks to determine which type of shading device, including inclined and multi-layer shades, can most effectively reduce indoor temperature and enhance convective flow.

Methods: Numerical simulations were conducted using SolidWorks and COMSOL Multiphysics software for geometry modeling, fluid flow simulation, and heat transfer analysis, respectively. A two-dimensional double-skin façade with various shading configurations was considered, and turbulent natural ventilation flow within them was examined.

Findings: Simulation results demonstrated that the geometry and airflow velocity significantly influenced the velocity and turbulence of the airflow within the double-skin cavity. A geometry with a multi-layer (asymmetric) shading device exhibited an 18.5% temperature reduction at the same wind speed. The maximum temperature reduction occurred in a geometry with a multi-layer (asymmetric) shading device and an airflow velocity of 5 meters per second. In other words, the best thermal performance was observed in multi-layer shading devices.

Conclusion: This research indicated that the use of multi-layer (asymmetric) shading devices can effectively reduce indoor temperature and enhance convective flow. These findings suggest that the appropriate design of shading devices can be employed as a passive method to reduce energy consumption in buildings.
</Abstract>

Aims: This research aims to plan a new intellectual system in the interdisciplinary space of two social phenomena, media and architecture, with the help of theorizing based on paradigm rethinking and with the aim of creating a concept. It requires understanding the meaning of episteme in Foucault's literature, temporal identification, i.e. the age of the current media leap: the Anthropocene era, and the description of the communication model, i.e. fusion.

Methods: With an approach based on the paradigm of modern materialism and using an algorithm inspired by Peirce's method, the theories of the field of media and architecture are taken as data and combined with analogy and induction, and the results are analyzed. A report is created. Considering the extent of this system, the writer has used the data combination of McLuhan's theories, the philosopher of the media age, with architectural data by designing an example.

Findings: The findings obtained from the research of historical theories in the field of media and architecture form a system of conceptual propositions in a post-qualitative context and by using the writer's creativity.

Conclusions: This research indicates the possibility of military creation of knowledge based on a rhizomatic report that can be read with Foucault's literature called architectural episteme in combination with media in the Anthropocene era, which can be analyzed in the context of the research approach and can probably be considered as a legacy of contemporary architecture to establish a fundamental structure in interdisciplinary studies in the field of media and architecture.
</Abstract>
